Ideally situated close to the fine white beaches of Costa Smeralda and within easy reach of the rugged mountains and rivers, the aptly named Mare e Rocce apartments are ideal for exploring all that the area has to offer or simply relaxing in the gardens.

Set in communal lawned gardens, the apartment has a veranda and terrace with views towards the sea, and and two bedrooms; one with double bed and the other with bunk beds making them ideal for family holidays in Sardinia. A sofabed in the living room allows for flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 6 people. The apartment benefits from the luxury of two shower rooms and toilets and there is an open plan kitchen/dining area and sitting area with satellite TV, should you prefer a quiet night in after a day sightseeing. Car hire is essential and there is also communal parking area.

As well as swimming, sailing and windsurfing on the beautiful beaches of the area, you can find also golf, tennis, bowling facilities, as well as mountain biking and horse riding close by.

Olbia also provides a wonderful starting point for discovering the Costa Smeralda. La Cinta Beach has 5km miles of warm sand and a stunning mountain backdrop. Should you tire of swimming in the amazing aquamarine sea, you can also explore the nearby marshland and lake area. Porto Cervo is a must with the jet-set, with its pink buildings, flashy yachts and chic cafés. Other places to explore are Porto Rotondoor and the rugged Nuoro coastline, with some of the island's most spectacular sea views. From Palau, a windsurfing mecca, you can take a boat to the picture-perfect islands of La Maddalena, a National Nautical Nature Reserve, with their luminous waters and superb sculpted rocks.

Meaning 'happy town', the port of OLBIA (6km away) is the largest in Sardinia, where the ferries from the Italian mainland arrive, making it a lively place, with a large selection of bars, restaurants and cafes. The city is also rich in history, with several fine cathedrals and churches, traces of Roman remains and many archeological sites, such as "Cabu Abbas", the holy well of "Sa Testa" and the giants grave of " Su Monte and S'Abe". There are a number of vibrant and exciting events in Olbia, including the Carnival extravaganza and the glittering Campianato dei Due Golfo regatta.
