assist with any queries, and other services either onsite or nearby include internet access, bike hire and storage

The apartments are simply but comfortably furnished and decorated in
bright, cheerful colours and all have open-plan American style kitchen/dinersas well as a washing machine, iron
and ironing board, and TV. Air conditioning and heating are available in the apartments.
Perched dramatically at the top of a rocky outcrop overlooking Lu Bagnu,
the stunning town of Castelsardo was originally built in this strategic position to withstand attacks from the
sea, and its fortifed walls and buildings remain intact, providing a unique glimpse back to mediaeval times. Take
a stroll back in time amidst the network of picturesque, winding alleys, where the ladies of the town can be seen
sitting in the sun, weaving handcrafted baskets for which the town is well known, (some of which are used by the
fishermen as lobster traps to this day). As well as the castle, dating back to 1102, the town has an impressive
ancient cathedral and several interesting churches, and everywhere there are breathtaking panoramic views over
the sea. The town is famous for its torch-lit processions over the Easter festivities, creating an unforgettable
spectacle, and throughout the year there are many festivals, theatres and other events.
There is plenty to see in and around Castelsardo. The colourful little
harbour of Frigiano bustles with fishing boats and yachts, and a famous landmark in the area, La Roccia dell'Elefante
- a limestone rock in the shape of an elephant, with its trunk turned towards the road - is not to be missed. For
the more adventurous the town also provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding coastline, and boat trips
are easily available. The Costa Smeralda is only an hour's drive away and Porto Torres is 35km away - from there
you can take a boat to the Aquatic Park of Asinara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Further afield are Stintino and
the beautiful beach of Pelosa, Alghero and Capocaccia, with the famous Caves of Neptune, Santa Teresa di Gallura
and the fabulous turquoise waters of the Archipelago de la Maddalena - you will truly be spoilt for choice!
The azure seas around Castelsardo offer the usual sea sports such as
windsurfing, scuba-diving, canoeing and yachting, and the surrounding countryside is ideal for mountain biking,
trekking, tennis, horse riding, hiking and fishing. After the adventures of the day, what better place to relax
than in one of the many small bars and restaurants, offering local specialities such as lobster, cooked to ancient,
traditional fishermen's recipes.
